Cactus v6II with Mamiya645AFDIII(Other Camera)

We use Mamiya645AFDIII and PhaseOne P25. When the camera was using the cactus v6 MG8000 the (nikon) had profile to synchronize in the not was because the manual. Since the profile is added in the cactus v6II,

P25 → Mamiya645AFDIII → cactusv6II → cactusv6II → MG8000 (nikon)

More tried the combination, but, HSS also can not be power control. canon, nikon, olympas, Panasonic,Fujifilme do you can only use only synchro in there and although other manufacturers and can be controlled in Other Camera?

  • Hello @Didjeridoo

I am sorry but in order to remote power control compatible flashes on the V6 II, the camera must also be compatible.

The reason is because V6 II in RX mode listens for a package of information from the TX unit, such as camera's pre-flash signal.  This is required in order to carry out other commands such as power and zoom settings.

So in regards to your question:

The answer is yes. You can only use camera systems that are listed as comaptible on the V6 II.

On the other hand, your MG8000 for Nikon may be compatible with the V6 by using other digital-only TTL flash profiles such as the Nikon SB-700.

    Thank you.

Hello @Didjeridoo, I got a hold of the MG8000 for Nikon, mount it on the V6 (first generation), selected the SB-700 profile and it worked!

However - there is a slight issue when controlling the flash power output of the MG8000 (for Nikon).

Due to how Nikon TTL functions on the Nissin MG8000, power adjustment is not immediately applied to the flash. where the flash will fire the at previous power output level on the first shot and the newly adjusted power level will be fired only in the second shot.

In any case, since your camera system (Mamiya and PhaseOne) is not supported on the V6 II, you should instead consider the V6. Perhaps you may consider switching to the Canon version MG8000.

    Cheers!
