Second curtain Sync question

Is there a way to have the RF60 fire a second curtain sync with it being on the camera or by the Cactus V6?
I know you can set the delay of the trigger but am not sure if there more clear way to do this.
Thanks for your time and help!

  • Hi @LensCapTim

With Delay Timer you can actually do Second Curtain, First Curtain, and even "Middle" curtain because you can set the flash to fire at any time within your defined shutter speed duration.

For example, if you set shutter speed to 1 second, you can set the delay timer to 0.5 second. The input on the Cactus units would be 500 ms.

Both the RF60 and V6 has the Delay Timer feature.
For RF60, refer to page 37 of the User Manual.
For V6, refer to page 55.

    I hope the above helps!

To help us better help you, always state the exact firmware version installed on your Cactus device(s), such as: "1.1.013", "NIK.A.001", "v.103", or "A06".

TTL or HSS not working on Cactus V6 II and V6 IIs? Be sure to check hot shoe connectivity by doing the <CAMERA INFO> check.

Random question, Have you all thought about adding programmable memory banks so a person could dial in these kinds of settings followed by storing them for later recall? That would a killer be a investment!!
  • Hey, so i've also been interested in this question, but realise that the V6 and RF60 can only do this if the timer is 1 second or under.

    Here are the issue...

The V6 delay timer does not work in transmit mode.
The RF60 is limited to a 1 second delay.

If the V6 delay timer could work in TX mode then the functionality would be extended massively.
If the RF60 delay timer would allow both seconds and ms delay, we could customise our devices to operate in a vast array of lighting setups, rear curtain sync being one of them...
