relay mode: also possible when camera RX unit NOT on hot shoe?

I want to remotely trigger a compact camera without hot shoe AND simultaneously trigger a studio strobe.

will the relay mode (handheld TX / camera + strobe RX) also work when the camera RX unit is NOT on a hot shoe but connected to the camera via trigger cable only?

Actually it only works when there is a shutter cable connected. Whether the V6 is mounted on the hot shoe or not is irrelevant.

Actually, Antonio, what you write is not true.

The V6 Rx needs to sit in a hot-shoe, otherwise it is not going to trigger anything else (but the camera) thus defeating the use of the relay mode.

If you want the camera and the strobe to fire at the same time, you'll need a hot-shoe on the camera. The only alternative is to not use relay mode but to trigger both camera V6 Rx and strobe V6 Rx at the same time, however with an appropriate amount of delay dialled in on the strobe V6 Rx.

I forgot that it's for setting up Relay Mode.
