D800E+SB800

I'm having an issue with the SB800 flash
I have my transmitter on a D800E and set to TTL pass-thru. I shoot manual mode, fixed iso (800)

I switch on my SB800, followed by the Cactus. The flash goes to TTL-BL-FP mode as it should. But the thing is I do not see the flash change the iso and lens setting to that of the camera...And I still have to set the flash power manually. Is this normal?

  • Hi there @reinierv,

Just to make sure, you turn on "TTL PASS THROUGH", is it because you mount your SB-800 flash directly on the V6 transmitter unit, like so?

    Top: SB-800  (on-camera flash)
    Middle: V6  (transmitter)
    Bottom: D800E  (camera)

Please make sure you have selected a corresponding Flash system and profile - Nikon, SB-800.

    Cheers!

TTL or HSS not working on Cactus V6 II and V6 IIs? Be sure to check hot shoe connectivity by doing the <CAMERA INFO> check.
