No retro-compatibility V6II-V5?

Sorry but I can't walk through this website and shut up about the fact my 2 cactus V5 became obsolete after upgrading my V6II with PEN.A.005 version. I just bought a RF60x and was so happy so setup my studio with my V6II over my PNTAX K1 triggering my RF60x and my 2 others flashes mounted on V5...how disappointed was I when i discovered it is either the RF60x or the 2 other flashes.

So so disappointed. I really dislike the absence of retro-compatibility.

Do you need the P-TTL capabilities of the PEN.A.005 version?

If not, if say HSS using manual control is sufficient, you could just use a multi-brand firmware version like V1.1.013 and retain backward compatibility with the V5. Obviously, downgrading the firmware from PEN.A.005 to an earlier / different one is possible with a V6II, i.e., you are not stuck with what you've got right now.

Any firmware using the "1" radio protocol rather than the "A" protocol will still work with the V5.

That could have been a way yes...but the RF60x is set up to understand the A protocole.

There is a compatible firmware for the RF60X as well, for instance V104.
