Problem with update to Ver. FUJ.A.003

edited October 2018 in V6 Problems
Hello,
I just tried to update my V6 II to Ver. FUJ.A.003. However it keeps telling me Error during update, see screenshot.

When I disconnect the V6 from the computer and switch on the V6 II, it actually shows me Ver. FUJ.A.003 and then says "initialize" and nothing more happens.

What can I do?

Thank you for your help.

  • Can you use another USB cable for update? I know there is some cable is not data-transfer friendly.

Another thing you may try is to reconnect the V6 II to the PC, open the firmware again and download the firmware file again. Usually the error is due to corrupted file during download process. Re-download the file may solve the problem.

    I hope that helps.

  • Thanks for the reply.
I actually tried it more than once on both Mac and PC and it is always the same result.
The cable that I used works fine. It worked before and I did the update of the RF60X with it without any problems yesterday.

  • The error 99 is hardware failure. It seems your V6 II is defect. You can contact your dealer or ship it back to us for service. For more detail, please contact us at info@cactus-image.com .

  • Thank you.
I did it already. I should receive a replacement unit by the end of this week.

  • I have the same issue with two V6's. The updater runs to 99% and hangs there then posts an error code 43. I have tried to update both units (firmware version 2.1.001) with the same result. I wanted to update the firmware due to them both failing to transmit a flash signal from the unit to the attached flash. When the flash signal is sent from the transmitter to the receiver, they both have green lights but the flash fails to fire. The flash does fire when the flash button is pushed on the unit that is holding the flash though.

Found the solution to the firmware issue on another thread. I went to the August 2015 notice and disabled the start up security as the post suggested, downloaded a new copy of the updater and installed it and the update went through just fine! Still don't know why the flashes don't flash like they are supposed to though. :-(
  • @Lloyd So, the update was success, but the flash still didn't fire. Wasn't it? May I know what flash model you are using?
