Cactus v6ii timer delay

I am trying to configure the Cactus v6ii as a hot-shoe inline timer delay.

Here a pic of the configuration: https://www.200f2.photo/Shoots/Cactus-mounting/n-rQMck2/ (I was getting repeated errors trying to upload the image).

Camera: D750
Hot shoe splitter: Andoer
R trigger: Elinchrom HS for Nikon, running a bank of ELB400s
L Trigger: Elinchrom generic sitting atop the v6ii, running a bank of Style studio lights

Everything works as it should, except the timer delay.

I want to control the delay of the L trigger after front curtain. I had hoped the Cactus could do this while sitting inline. Reading other threads, it appears the only way to do this is to run a combination of Cacti in Tx and Rx modes (while worrying about relative geometries between these modules). This is not a workable solution.

Is there any way to configure a single Cactus v6ii as an inline timer delay from the hotshoe?

If not, I have a BNIB Cactus v6ii for sale. I'm located in Ottawa Canada. Net to me 75% of whatever I paid (bought from Amazon.ca). PM for details.

Thanks for reading to the end, Rob

  • Bump. Any chance of a firmware upgrade?
  • Hi Rob,

After consulting R&D team, unfortunately that's not possible on the V6 II. Sorry!

TTL or HSS not working on Cactus V6 II and V6 IIs? Be sure to check hot shoe connectivity by doing the <CAMERA INFO> check.
