Cactus with Metz Mz-54-4 with Sony sca adapter

Hello.

I have two cactus V6 IIs and I'm trying to use one of my Metz MZ54-4 with the Sony sca as the Sony adapter from Sony Minolta to multi interface shoe.

I can't seem to find a way to use the flash either manually or with control.

I understand that these sca flashes don't have an electronic ttl but is there a way to use them manually.

When I connect the flash it just didn't stop zooming in and out and for the most part it even fails to fire.

Thanks.

  • Hi there @munecito

If your Metz flash is already set to "TTL" mode and it fails to react to changes you made on the V6 IIs, this particular flash model may not be supported.

As for manual flash triggering, the flash should be set to "M", the V6 II shall auto-detect the flash as "MANUAL". You can test by pressing the Test button on the V6 IIs (RX unit) and see if the flash mounted above fires a flash?

Then you can try the wireless bit, pressing the Test button on the TX, take note if the Status LED blinks orange at half press and green at full press.

    Thanks and keep us posted.
