Is V6IIs compatible with A77V?

I have two A77Vs (AAS/iISO shoe), one Cactus V6 and four Cactus RF60. The V6 mounts on an A77V using an adaptor.

With the advent of the RQ250, I'm considering upgrading the V6 to a V6II, but TTL on Sony does not appear to be supported by other than the V6IIs.

So my question for now is: will the V6II work in TTL mode on a Sony A77V if mounted using a suitable adaptor? And is not now, is compatibility in the road map?

Many thx.

  • First you need a Sony hot shoe adapter for Sony A77Vs. Then, you can attach it to the Cactus V6 IIs for Sony  (https://www.cactus-image.com/v6iis.html) . The V6 IIS already support TTL. All you need to do is the firmware update the V6 IIS.

FYI, the V6 II is suitable for standard ISO hot shoe camera, such as Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Pentax and Sigma. The V6 IIS for Sony is good for Sony MI shoe camera and flash.

    I hope that helps. Cheers!

  • Thank you.

Will TTL then work with my existing HF60 flashes, or will I need to buy the X flashes?

    Many thx.
  • The X-TTL firmware variants are compatible with the A01, A02 firmware versions for the RF60/RF60X. So, yes, you can continue to use your RF60, as long as you update the firmware version.
  • Thank you, great news.
