Error: Update failed, Error code 99

Hello, 

Since I have two camera systems, Nikon and Olympus I am switching firmware pretty often. I have connected V6II and updated to OLY firmware. Then I updated my F60 firmware to latest. End at the end I plugged in my F60X  pres update button and it showed me error. You can see attached screenshot. I am not able to use flash anymore. After switching on nothing happens. 

holding NEXT and turning on the flash does not do anything.

  • Have you tried unplugging and start over again and try installing the firmware again on the RF60X?

  • yes. multiple times and different versions. the flash is recognized by computer over USB but it looks like it dad.

    Confirmed with R&D that the hardware malfunctioned when you see Err99.  Please contact your dealer for warranty service.

  • I have contacted B&H and they told me to contact the vendor..
    I have escalated the request and it is now on review with someone who makes decisions. 

    Also I checked my records and found out that I have got my flash from B&H last year on Feb 10. I suspect that B&H will say that warranty is gone. and I am on my own.

    Could you repair my device?

    Yes of course we are willing to service your V6 II. Please email us your B&H invoice.

    Since it is over a year since purchase date there will be a inspection / repair fee of USD 15  + parts fee (quoted upon checking your unit).

  • hi, i have 2 cactus V6 , 2 flash RF60 and 1 flash RF60X. i have updated with last firmware version all my devices, excepte the RF60X model . With the last one, (A08-24 sept 2018) i get update failed, error code 99 . (if i flasf with the 104 (19 january , it's ok.. ) i have read this forom bun i cant find any solution to resolve this issue... regards
