Mixing Sony flash & RF60x

Hi,
I have an A6000 for which I originally bought a HVL-F43M flash. Then decided I wanted to learn off-camera flash techniques, so I bought a V6-IIs and an RF60x. I'm not sure now what I was thinking, but I'm now thinking I can purchase another V6-IIs and mount it to my HVL43 to fire it as well. So, to fire both flashes...
  • One V6-IIs on camera; tx
  • One V6-IIs on the Sony HVL43 on rx
  • One RF60x on rx
  • Both on one channel; or control separate by using two different channel?
This should work? Or have I still lost my mind :-)

  • Yes, if you want to also trigger your HVL43 as an off-camera flash, then you do need another V6 IIs unit.

All V6 IIs units and the RF60X have to run on the same channel, say channel 8 for example.  You can set your HVL43 and RF60X to group A and B respectively.

    Cheers and have fun!

  • Thank you, Antonio!
Yes... separate 'group'; same channel; different groups to control each separately.
    I'll order today!
  • Great to hear!

    Thanks @dmckeever

  • Hello Antonio,
This community interface won't late me post in the RF60X category.

Was just updating some of my devices (V6iis) and thought I would do my RF60X as well.
Plugged it in and ran the updater; got the message, "no device connected"
I would also add that the instructions to update firmware is very difficult to find, and quite cryptic.
