V6 - Prevent unintended miss-adjustments
Hello
Recently I got a pair of V6 which I use on a Pentax K3.
With the V6 mounted on the camera hot-shue I had the problem, that I touch the back side of the V6 with my forehead before my eye reaches the viewfinder. These touching conditions sometimes press and/or turn the adjustment wheel unintendantly..
If you place a small plastic sheeld below or above the wheel this unintended changes could be prevented.
A small sketch is attached - and I look forwart to test this improvemnt ;-)
Comments
did you notice firmware V1.0.173 which added a "LOCK" feature for the dial?
If you lock the V6 dial, by long-pressing on the dial or the "OK" button then the V6 will not respond to dial turns anymore (except for single group adjustments) unless you temporarily unlock it (by pressing the dial or "OK" briefly) or permanently (by long-pressing the dial or "OK").
This feature should help against inadvertently changing levels with your forehead. You just need to make sure that you don't push-in the dial with your forehead, as this will temporarily unlock the V6.
P.S.: You can find the Firmware Updater (for Windows) and descriptions about the bug fixes / new features at the "Downloads" tab of the V6 product page.
Thank you so much for you suggestion. As Class A said, the latest firmware update added the LOCK feature for the dial. You can find the detailed instruction in the Cactus V6 firmware update note,
