RF60X not triggered by Pentax K5 in local mode

in RF60X Problems
(I have updated the firmware for the V6II & RF60X units described below.)
  • My newly received RF60X fires in local mode when mounted on my wife's Pentax K-50.  
  • It will NOT fire in local mode when mounted on my Pentax K-5.
  • The K-5 WILL fire my Pentax AF-540FGZ. 
  • My also newly received V6II will fire the RF60X using the test button.
  • Why is the K-5 communicating with the Pentax flash, but not the Cactus equipment?  
 Suggestions will be appreciated.

    Could you be using LiveVIew mode?

    It appears that when LiveView mode is activated it requires a TTL flash - all hot shoe contact pins are used. The RF60X only has a centre hot shoe pin so that might have prevented it from using.
