Cactus v6, Nikon SB-910 and high shutterspeeds

Can this problem be solved?

First I want to apologize if my English is not that correct, but I’m not a native speaker or writer.

Own following items:

Camera Nikon D810

Flitser Nikon SB-910

4 cactus v6 transmitters/receivers (latest update installed).

If the SB-910is connected directly on the camera (or connected via synccable) I am able to use shutterspeeds of 1/1000, 1/3200 and higher. Mode is manual.

I can vary the power intensity of the SB-910 from 1/1 to 1/128.

Photo’s are ok. There is no black beam to discover in the photo’s and the difference in powerintensity is very clear.

If I put a Cactus v6 transmitter on the camera and the SB-910 on a Cactus receiver v6, it is not working any more.

I can still take photo’s but I always get a black bream varying in height depending on the shutter speed (shutterspeeds of 1/1000, 1/3200 or higher).

I can indeed manipulate the power of intensity of the SB-910 via transmitter but that does not make any difference.

If I lower the shutterspeed to 1/320 or 1/250 there is no problem.

Am I doing something wrong or are there some settings that need to be configured?

Anyone who has a golden tip?

Thnx,

jef

  • Hello Jef,

That is normal, because the Cactus V6 does not support Auto FP mode (High-speed Sync / Focal Plane mode).

If you want to shoot above camera's x-sync speed (1/250s), you should get the Cactus V6 II.

    Thank you.
