no flash when used with fujifilm xpro2

I have two of the Cactus Wireless Flash Transceiver V6 units. I don't think I have used these previously with my Fujifilm xpro2.  They were last used about 4 yrs ago with my Nikon D800 which I sold when I moved to the a mirrorless camera.  I updated today the units' firmware from the cactus website. When I put one unit in tx mode on the hot shoe of my xpro2 and the other set to rx mode and take a picture neither unit flashes. I know they are communicating because a green light goes on both units when I hit the test button. Plus I think the unit mounted on the xpro2 is getting a message from the camera because when I take a picture the green light blinks on the mounted flash. But I am not getting a flash. When I mount my EX20 Fuji flash on the xpro2 the fuji flash works fine. Any help with my cacti problem?

  • Which flash did you mount on the V6 RX unit?

    EF-20 or EF-X20?

    If you are using flashes that run on Fujifilm system, then it is NOT going to work on the V6.

    Only the Cactus V6 II works with Fujifilm flashes;

    And you must use a V6 II (TX) to trigger another V6 II (RX).
    A V6 cannot trigger a V6 II.
    A V6 II can also trigger V6.

    You may also consider the Cactus RF60X. It is a great off-camera flash as it has built-in radio:

    Your existing V6 can trigger a RF60X.

    Thank you.

  • I have a v6 mounted on the camera and the other v6 sitting a few meters away.  Neither flashes when I depress the shutter button.  Should the v6 work mounted on the camera?

    Please tell me, what flash model are you using?

    If the flash does not run on a compatible flash system, then it won't trigger.

    V6 unit set to TX mode:  mount on camera
    V6 unit set to RX mode:  mount flash on female hot shoe of V6

  • Regarding the flash model--the unit says only "Cactus".  The original box states "Cactus Wireless Flash Transceiver V6"

    Hmm... flash, as in portable flash or speedlight.

    For example, Canon 5680EXII, Fujifilm EF-42, Nikon SB-900, etc.
