Reminder to please remove your batteries...

...as the title states.

The batteries in both my V6s were left in there (I don't know for how long, I even ignored the advice to remove them online, partly why I'm writing this) and unfortunately they leaked battery acid all over the inside of both.

I followed a video online, applying white vinegar to a cotton bud and cleaning it out, then scratching at harder bits with the end of a thin flathead screwdriver. This worked fine and both devices are now clean but it took me over an hour to get the device back together due to the loose buttons and battery door (with the amazingly tiny spring - thanks guys) to stay in place whilst I re-sealed the V6 together. Everytime I was about 1/50 of a mm away from closing the device, at least one of the buttons or spring would pop out. So fiddly...

Just a fresh warning/reminder to remove those batteries or face the eternal wrath of the unholy battery acid.

  • Thanks for the reminder!

And I am glad you got your units back on wheels again.

The reminder is much needed despite we put up warnings in the user manual.  If you are not going to use the transceivers in the next day or two, just take out the batteries.

    Thanks!
