Units set to Tx and Rx will not 'talk' to each other
I just received 2 of the V6 units to use with my Canon 5D Mark III and my Nikon SB-700 flash and I am having a problem that I can not figure out after much googling and reading through the manual.
The units are not 'talking' to each other when I change the flash power on the on camera unit set to Tx. The flash was firing for a while but now it wont even do that. I have attached a photo that show the unit on the camera (on channel 1, group D) with a power of 1/1 and the receiver unit still reading 1/128 regardless of if the flash is or is not on the camera.
I have the range set to 'SHORT' since I am working in close distances and per the instructions for the Nikon flashes I have set the flash to TTL and turned it on before turning on the V6 units.
I have tried swapping the different units to be both the Trigger and Receiver, tried different channels, different groups, and another flash preset to see if anything would work but whichever unit is set to Rx will not change the power setting to what the Tx unit reads. I have also tried this all at further distances with the same results. On both units I also have fresh batteries and the flash works fine when not connected to the V6 units.
For reference both units are running the Firmware 2.1.001.
Any help would be appreciated as I really want these units to work but am out of things to try to make them work, and it seems crazy that I could get 2 defective units....

Are you planning to use it with the Cactus V6 II? If not, could you try using the previous firmware version, 1.1.009, and see if the communication problem disappears?
If problem persists even with 1.1.009 then it could be hardware malfunction on the V6 - though I would think this is less likely, especially you have switched around the transceiver units.
Or could also be a hot shoe connection issue with between the RX unit and the SB-700.
Please let us know how you get on.
Thanks!

I am currently not planning on using the units with the Cactus V6 II so I tried using the previous firmware per your suggestion and now the units work perfectly! Thank you for the help!
