EOS Remote App on iPhone Doesn't trigger V6 (to RF60)

I've got a canon 6d with a v6 in the hot shoe triggering an off camera RF60.

I'm using the EOS Remote app on my iPhone to trigger the canon 6d shutter release.

The v6/RF60 DOES NOT fire when I trigger the camera shutter release with the EOS remote app.

The v6/RF60 DOES fire if I press the shutter release button on the camera.

Is the EOS Remote app incapable of triggering the v6?

    Found the answer:
    Buried on page 171 of the owners manual it states to use Non-Canon flash units/syncs you have to disable Silent LV shoot. The flash will not fire if it is set to Mode 1 or Mode 2.

    I tried this and it works over wifi perfectly.
